As we age, you also learn that the “0” to “4” at the end of our age is fantastic, and once we hit the “5,” like 45, (we) at least i did- round up.
We are essentially 50 and everyone knows it 😉😘
I believe the this second half of the 90- decades goes faster.
Has it been proven (not sure) but with the way life is probably!!
Personally I can tell that I am in the late half of the decade because people say, “Wow, you look good… for your age,” when i tell them my age. This by the way is the contortionist (look it up in the dictionary if you dont know the meaning) version of a compliment. You see we take it, coz it is as good as it gets.🤷🏻‍♀️
By starting my 45th chapter I have decided not to pretend to like all the people I know (they know who they are or will soon find out).
I am grateful to know of all the conversations I dont have to make anymore have to make with idiots who think they are smarter than me. 🤭
Oops did I say that, yes I did – And here’s a curveball attitude that I come with now “live with it”🤪
I know no one is impressed or thinks my turning 45 is a big deal but I felt like making it a big deal, and enjoy my life behind the scenes and with the world. 🥰🖤

the Battle of the bulge is not easy: we become moody, edgy, irritable, touchy and so much more. So its easy to give up and fall of the wagon. That is why a support group is necessary.
So I have been Lucky that I have my own little support group with me, its been a bumpy ride but we are getting there.
So when I started my weight loss journey and decided to join the GYM my mom laughed as did the immediate family who are close to me. You see I had done this so many times no one thought I would manage to pull it off.
Don’t get me wrong, they were tired of my joining the GYM and not going through and they all thought “ok another failed attempt” But this time what no one realized was that I have had blessings sent to me (everything happens for a reason)

Hiking – Wadi Shaab & Ras Al Hadd

So 2 weekends ago in Oman we decided to go on a little Wadi trip, which I was convinced to join in on last minute. Little did I know what I was letting myself in fore. I am known to be the most unadventurous person on the planet … but that was in the past 🙂

we started from Muscat, to head to a place called Wadi Shab … and so the story unfolds as follows:

On the way to #Sur is a little oasis called Wadi Shab (وادي شاب) With my lovelies not knowing what I was actually in for, thinking I was just going on a small leisurely out door #walk.

The main attraction is the water fall in the cave, which you can reach after roughly 45 minutes of #hiking (I was DECEIVED).

I hiked, swam in clear blue waters in natural pools with sweet water fish, for the first time in my life. also complained 90% of my way there to everyone, but without them I wouldn’t have been able to do it.

We then drove to Ras Al Hadd see the #turtles (turtle reserve) where we were met by a very good friend of mine another special person nick named (Al Badawi) for coming from Ja’alan to see us and take us turtle watching.

Food Habits that I Use

I am sharing some of my food habits that I have made that have helped and still helping on my weight loss journey:

GRAPEFRUITS

Some compounds in grapefruits help your body use insulin more efficiently.

Keeps your blood sugar in check

Also help burn calories.

TIP: I usually mix it in my green salad with a touch of balsamic vinaigrette dressing that I make at home. NO JUICES!!

Olive oil

OLIVE OIL

 Get rid the butter, the cooking spray
Replace it with olive oil. Like fish oil.
Olive Oil is full of omega-3 fatty acids that help keep  the stomach less bloated, the brain, and other organs working more efficiently, & helps regulate the appetite
TIP: DO NOT over heat the olive oil in the pan, because it burns and then you loose all the effective properties of it

Generally start my day with a banana
It helps the metabolism due to all the potassium in them. “Potassium helps your body regulate minerals and fluids in and out of your cells”
TIP: Keeps you full, I blend it with my milk and use my protein powder to make pancakes

BERRIES

Did you know that  berries are high in fiber (up to 8 to 9 grams a cup)
also have antioxidants, and contain less sugar than most fruits.
TIP: The combination of all the berries makes them a satisfying and healthy choice and sometimes I blend it with a banana and fat free milk

Support Group Necessity – Reach Out

  • My Son Noah – my Miracle (A gift from God);

  • A Girl Called Nadia Khan from London

    • there is so much I can say and yet it would not be enough (she is another beautiful soul that has walked the walk with me & still is)

    • she joined the GYM with me

    • she came with me relentlessly for months & due to busy life schedules we try to work out together when possible

    • stood by me through it all – a backbone

  • another called Christin from Berlin – but she’s more Omani now 🙂

    • a force to reckon with as well

    • my rock & backbone

    • another beautiful soul who has walked the walk & still is

  • and sitting in Budapest is my Sister Anna Maria who lives on the 4th floor, without a lift (you can imagine how many times I cursed her coz I had walk up 94 steps and down 94 steps) 😉

    • my globe-trotter

    • someone who has stood by me from across the continents

    • another soul sent to me, a force to be reckoned with and my pillars of strength

the above was how it started, along the way the circle increased

Why My Weakness is Temporary

Peanut Butter & BR

So I have been away for a few weeks now, and honestly its just been a bit tough, so much has happened in the last 10 months. Hence the peanut butter and BR

“I HAVE NOT STOPPED MY GYM”

  • biggest change by self choice was that I became a Single Mom after 10 years – EMBRACING SINGLEHOOD.
  • in less than 8 months starting before single mommyhood hit me was the weight loss 84kg in total with just diet, gym and  determination nothing else (this started before the separation and then divorce)
  • dealing with the unwanted physical change of weight loss – the excess and saggy skin 
  • starting my professional and personal life from scratch – coz I was working for the ex husband 
  • decided that the ex husband and I need to be friends for the sake of our son, which led to an amicable divorce, we are friends. 🙂 – its hard, but has to be done! seen too many damaged kids from nasty splits!! my son is more important that any one or anything.
  • my parents became became a bit ill (just age) during different times, am an only child.
  • as of this weekend i have officially become socially in incapacitated 🙂
  • I have had a few week days where peanut butter and baskin and robins were my best friends is that over?? not sure!
